Restaurants Near Reunion – Tijuana Flats

IMG_9235

If you have a passion for great Tex Mex, but love high quality dishes at fast food speed, there’s literally no place better than Tijuana Flats!

Established in 1995 in Central Florida, Tijuana Flats is rapidly evolving into a multi state chain, thanks to its awesome reputation for its hot sauces and very cool, freshly made dishes.

The restaurants near Reunion Resort have been serving the luxury community very well, but the Ovation shopping area has changed little over recent years.
Tropical Smoothie being the stand out, and very popular addition worth a mention and visit for great Smoothies and excellent fresh sandwiches and flatbreads.

Lately though, the Championsgate are has flourished with new developments and a string of familiar faces such as McDonalds and Wendy’s, has been joined by an English Fish and Chip shop, and of course Tijuana Flats.

The quality of the Tex Mex food is legendary.
The service at the new Championsgate location has been faultless on every visit so far and the prices are very fair for high quality ‘made to order quick service’.
Remember the ‘made to order’ element.
It’s a popular place and they don’t pre make orders like a lot of places do, so you may wait 5 or 10 minutes for your order, but it is worth it.

You can order ‘to go’ or have the food delivered to your restaurant table, seats inside or out.

The menu items are typically diverse Tex Mex and all menu items can be custom built, much like a good home in Reunion Resort!

  • Chips & Dips
  • Burritos
  • Burrito Bowls
  • Chimichangas
  • Dos Tacos
  • Flat Outrageous
  • Flauta
  • Taco Salads
  • Nachos
  • Quesadillas
  • Kids meals

Reunion Resort Express Window

We recently tried the Express Window at Reunion Resort’s Clubhouse.
Having refueled after a fast paced morning round on the Watson Course, a quick tasty lunch was much in order before heading off to a business meeting.

Thankfully, the Express Window worked out perfectly for us.

We didn’t have to wait too long at all before our ‘Birdie’ (Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagel) appeared right in front of us.
Hot coffee and a Granola Bar got us back into the real world as we packed our clubs into the car.

The Reunion Resort Express Window is a great idea that always seemed to obvious to think about!

New Clubhouse Menu Continues Reunion’s ‘Good Food’ Tradition

Gatherings - Reunion Resort Thanksgiving Menu

As a family, we appreciate that Reunion has an unbeatable foundation in good food.
Whether it’s just a burger at the water park or fine dining at Eleven or Forté, the standard of dining is always a cut above any other comparable resort area that we know.
We write dining reviews for a living and it’s reassuring that Reunion, the place we made home from home, delivers 5 stars so comfortably when it comes to great cuisine.

This week, the November issue of ‘Gatherings’ depicts a really tasty upgrade from Director of Food & Beverage, Robert Mason.

From the first week in November, The Eleven restaurant sees some great new menu items, including;

• Barbequed Bacon Shrimp – Bacon and Fresh Basil wrapped Jumbo Shrimp, local BBQ Sauce.
• Filet Mignon Egg Roll – Melon, Jicama slaw, Sweet Chili Sauce.
• 20 ounce Porterhouse Steak
• Bronzed Grouper – Lightly Blackened Florida Grouper, Lobster and Shrimp Ragu, Grilled Asparagus, Orange Cajun Sauce, organic Grits.
• Peppercorn Steak – NY Strip grilled and crusted with Roasted Garlic and Cracked Pepper, Brandy Demi-glace, Onion Straws

I think that the overhaul of the Eleven menu is a little overdue, but credit to Robert, the Food & Beverage team have hit well above target looking at the tempting menu.  We will of course check the items out and post full reviews asap.

The Clubhouse also gets an update Mid November and again, regular guests will very much appreciate the update with new appetizers, salads and entrees, such as Coconut Shrimp, Crap Dip, Caprese Salad, Cowboy Burger and Bacon Pepper Pork Tenderloin.

Forté also looks set for some updates later in November, but I hope those zucchini chips still make the cut!
Expect to see Antipasto, Minestrone Soup, Polenta Crusted Scallops and Pollo con Fungi.

Thanksgiving Dining is worth considering and there’s an abundance of choice at the various resort restaurants, including the clubhouse and ‘Reunion To Go’.

Reunion Resort Clubhouse Review

Reunion Clubhouse Fish Tacos

If you love the warm Orlando air, lunch at the Reunion clubhouse is not to be missed.
Reunion’s food is always a strong point for the vacation resort and a cut above.
Considering the prices are typically on the fair side for such a luxury resort, the quality and options are always consistently good.
Over the last five years of enjoying dining at the clubhouse, not one of our family of five have had a bad menu item here.

Food is made to order and fresh ingredients make the well prepared dishes taste great on a lunchtime.
The fish tacos are a big favorite, with the lightly battered Cod with Shredded Cabbage, Diced Tomatoes, Shredded Cheddar, Salsa, Guacamole & Sour Cream.

If you haven’t tried the Clubhouse, take a table outside and soak in the ambience of Reunion Resort!

Reunion Resort’s Forte – The Lure Of Zucchini Chips!

2015-06-03 19.35.26We had a brief stop at Reunion’s Forte restaurant recently when meeting friends for dinner.
As always, this beautiful restaurant hit the spot perfectly with some great food.
We only stopped to enjoy two courses, before gliding into the Lobby Bar, (Hi Alex!).
Although we loved the irresistible Zucchini Chips, we somehow omitted to save enough for a photograph!   All I can say is ‘sorry for that’ 😉

Seriously, if you ever want to try a delightful appetizer, please try them, you won’t regret it!
The flatbreads are great at Reunion, but those crispy, light tempura slivers of courgette and Lemon Parsley Aioli are a much better option according to our table.
We didn’t stick to convention with the wine selection, but the Oberon, Napa Valley, CA 2009 was very much appreciated ($45).

2015-06-03 20.56.46The main course for me was gorgeous; marsala chicken, (I chose mashed potato and a spinach side instead of the pasta), but, nothing as good as those chips!
If you’ve ever had the Reunion Sushi Roll, then you will know exactly how well prepared and addictive the food at Reunion can be!
