Oraine Williams – Update

Oraine Williams - Aegis Reunion ResortIt is hard to believe that 6 months has passed since Oraine was involved in a serious road accident.
In that time his loyal fans and supporters have made some great contributions to his GoFundMe page (please contribute if you can!)
A fabulous fund raising golf event was organized by his friend Carlton Grant of Reunion Resort, with the support from the entire industry and community of the resort in general.

Today, though, came the best news in 6 months; that Oraine finally returned home after his extensive treatment and rehab in Georgia.

After being under urgent and intensive care, and then rehabilitative care, continuously for over 6 months, Oraine finally came home for the first time on March 31st. All reports were that he was elated to be in his own home and able to enjoy those familiar smells and sounds we all relish. Oraine obviously has a long road ahead of him but his attitude and outlook are visibly improving every day. A colleague visited with Oraine just a few days before he left the hospital for good. The visitor left the hospital feeling truly inspired and humbled by Oraine’s ability to adapt to what has happened and recover his good nature. Those of us that know Oraine knew this day would come. That he would continue to be the person who would manifest hope and inspiration, without trying or even wanting to. Coming home is a big step and Oraine has started talking about his return to Aegis and more information will follow.

Oraine is a great guy, and we truly look forward to seeing him again in Reunion.

Sinclair Road/429 – Landscape Update

The next time you head into Reunion Resort via the 429 toll road off-ramp, you will be treated to a much nicer view!
A bunch of magnificent palms now define the area as an impressive gateway into the luxury community.
The west side of Reunion boasts the largest luxury mansions and it seems fitting that the ‘rear gate’ route is catching up in aesthetic terms.

With one of the driest periods on record, the region is looking forward to much needed rainfall to green up the local landscape.
(Not too much though!)

Bear’s Den Reunion Video Update

Reunion Resort Express Window

We recently tried the Express Window at Reunion Resort’s Clubhouse.
Having refueled after a fast paced morning round on the Watson Course, a quick tasty lunch was much in order before heading off to a business meeting.

Thankfully, the Express Window worked out perfectly for us.

We didn’t have to wait too long at all before our ‘Birdie’ (Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagel) appeared right in front of us.
Hot coffee and a Granola Bar got us back into the real world as we packed our clubs into the car.

The Reunion Resort Express Window is a great idea that always seemed to obvious to think about!

Bear’s Den Reunion – Update

As the northern states dipped well below freezing this weekend, Reunion Resort still felt like a spring day, albeit a slight chillier than usual!
As I drove to Reunion Resort, I couldn’t help regret not putting an extra layer over my tee shirt as temperatures dipped under 60F for an unusual ‘cold snap’.

Compared to my native UK, a chilly day in Orlando still feels tropical though, and the Nicklaus course was comfortably busy with winter season golfers making use of ‘the warmer weather’.

Today’s flyover at Reunion took us along the cart path of the 18th fairway on the West Side.
The lots are laid out neatly and a spec home and the home owned by Jack Nicklaus are coming out of the ground.
The video shows the golf legend’s home at quite an advanced stage as the builder works to get the home ready for occupancy this summer.

Real Estate in Reunion Resort is definitely headed in the right direction at the moment and the market is booming for new builds and resales!

Reunion Showcased at The International Builder Show!

McNally Homes featured in a special event at this year’s builder show.
Over 100 NAHB Builders Show guests subscribed to a half day tour of Central Florida’s finest custom homes, and Reunion Resort created a buzz amongst prospective buyers.

McNally showcased 2 luxury homes, one completed in 2014 and another large mansion that is currently under construction on Grand Traverse Parkway.
Great news for the resort in general as more and more attention is brought to the best vacation rental community in Central Florida.

The more progress that’s made in completing the luxury community, the more chances of the new clubhouse and amenities being completed.
(Although the Bears Den Club is progressing, the actual Nicklaus Course clubhouse is still not out of the ground yet.)

New Executive Chef at Reunion!

1f29f21

Jake Brenchley joins the Reunion team as ‘Eleven Restaurant’s’ new Executive Chef.
Although Reunion food is always great, it’s nice to see some new menu items and ideas for a menu that has been around for a long, long time now.

Jake’s LinkedIn profile mentions his last role at Celebration’s Bohemian Hotel as Exec Chef.
We can’t wait to see his impact upon Reunion Resort’s beautiful eleven floor restaurant!

The introduction from Reunion Resort shows a hint of Jake’s culinary experience and creative artistry.  Both are something that Eleven diners will truly appreciate over the coming months!
We think this guy has what it takes to be at the top of Reunion Resort’s flagship restaurant.

Reunion Real Estate – One of the Best Performing 5 Bedroom Homes

For Sale – 5 Bedroom Golf View Home on Muirfield Loop, Reunion Resort
View Sales Details

One of the best moments of my life was viewing this amazing golf view home for the very first time at Reunion Resort, Orlando.
6 years ago, to the week, Britain was gripped with freezing cold weather.  Flights were delayed, and I had a small window to meet up with Carlos German at 591 Muirfield Loop.

Carlos and I built up a great working relationship over the previous months while on vacation at Reunion, as he searched for the right home for us in Reunion Resort.
This bank owned gem magically appeared and we placed an offer from the UK, based upon nothing more than Carlos’s pocket camera images and his enthusiasm.
To our surprise the offer was accepted, and the story began.

Telling our young kids at the time, that I was going to their favorite place without them (just before Christmas) did not go down too well.
Even more troubling, the British Winter meant that I had to view the home and get back before Christmas Eve with the family.
To cut a long story short, I made it just in time, with the news that we’d signed the deal.
Buying 591 was the greatest Christmas present ever and we’ve enjoyed every minute of our time there.

As many know, Reunion Resort is a deeply addictive place, and over time, our passion for life in Florida grew.  So much so that the inevitable family move took place in 2015.
The kids are in school at Lake Nona, and our family is in the process of settling into a home nearer that location.
The home rents like crazy, and has been a very profitable investment for us thanks to the home getting around 60% occupancy, but our residential base needs to be nearer Lake Nona.
The decision to sell our dream home in Muirfield was not easy, but I’m sure that the new owners will have as big an adventure here as we have.
For the blog?
It continues!
Even more so, thanks to my ongoing membership of the resort and continued involvement within Reunion on a day to day basis.
